Within 72 hours of harvesting the deer or turkey, the hunter must validate the harvest. There are 3 ways to validate your tags after harvesting a deer or turkey:
- Use text-to-tag with your cell phone. For more information, click HERE.
- Validate your tags on LouisianaOutdoors.com.
- Call the LDWF Harvest line: (225)267-9998.
Customer must have tags in their possession while hunting. They can have them printed out or a copy of them on their device. As long as you complete the electronic tag before moving the animal and have a physical copy or a picture of your harvest tags on your smartphone, you do not have to attach a physical tag.
To correct a reported or validated deer or turkey tag, call LDWF HQ at (225) 765-2800, select option 0, and ask for a supervisor.
