- Preference points are added every year you are Unsuccessful up to 5 points. A preference point is an extra chance in the lottery. If you miss applying in any given year for any reason, you lose the preference points you have gained.
- Can non-residents can apply for the bear lottery?
- A non-resident who owns land in Bear Area 1, 2, or 4 can apply for the landowner lottery. However, if they are successful, they must transfer the tag to a properly licensed resident. Non-residents cannot hunt even if they are selected in the lottery.
